Measuring our Impact: Quiip’s 2024 Impact Report
Quiip is delighted to share our Impact Report for FY-2024. As Australia’s leading online community specialists and a certified B Corporation, we are always striving to measure & evaluate our impact, with a goal to leave a positive trace on people and planet.
At Quiip, we are on a mission to connect and protect communities online. We facilitate conversations between brands & humans using world-class community management, and believe in harnessing the power of the internet, using social media & forums, to connect, protect and support people & organisations online.
As a certified B Corporation, we are also passionate believers that business can be a force for good. We believe it is our responsibility to measure and evaluate our social, climate & environmental impact, focus on learning & continuous improvement, and aim to leave a positive impact on people and the planet.
Sharing our journey and impact progress is important to us, as is ensuring the satisfaction of our clients, partners and team. Our impact is monitored, evaluated and published in our annual Impact Reports. Previous impact reports can be read here: FY22 and FY23.

Our team
During FY24, Quiip maintained our workforce of 25 employees, made new senior appointments and achieved an outstanding result of 8.9/10 in our employee satisfaction survey. We also worked to review and re-define our company values as a team.
We remained focused on fostering a positive, safe and healthy work environment, providing access to our Employee Assistance Program. Our team continued to benefit from initiatives including bonuses, interest-free loans, caregiver leave, donation matching, access to a socially responsible superannuation fund, and paid volunteer time. We supported our team’s charitable efforts by matching donations and contributing approximately $1000 to organisations of their choice.
Quiip also extended home energy assessments to three additional team members (read more about this initiative here) and distributed 10% of profits to employee owners.
Our climate & environmental action
In 2024, we continued our commitment to positive climate & environmental action, and released an updated Impact Roadmap focusing on 50 initiatives across 9 impact areas. As a business, we have committed to halving emissions by 2030, with a goal to reach Net Zero by 2050.
As a remote business with a small carbon footprint, the majority of Quiip’s emissions sit with employees and suppliers. We therefore conducted a 66-question employee survey to explore team behaviours and attitudes regarding sustainability and climate change. We also shared our climate action plans with our four top local suppliers with positive results.
We donated a total of A$16,000 to five climate-change focused organisations: Climate Council, Seed, Karrkad Kanjdji Trust, the Bob Brown Foundation, and the Environmental Defenders Office.
We also demonstrated environmental stewardship advocacy by engaging staff on topics including creating suburban wildlife habitats, heat pump hot water systems, reducing textile waste, energy efficient appliances, and switching to ethical banking & super.

Our 1% pledge
At Quiip, we aim to donate at least 1% of our revenue (not profits) to non-profits. The recipients of our giving commitment in FY24 were:
Our social impact
Quiip’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Group of five employees met monthly, leading to formal approval of our Innovate RAP by Reconciliation Australia. We hosted an internal Reconciliation Week event, updated procurement policies to focus on First Nations-owned businesses, and strengthened partnerships with First Nations’ businesses & non-profit organisations.
Quiip continued as a passionate Comms Declare member and Pledge 1% member. In addition, our CEO Alison Michalk spoke on panels about employee share ownership plans (ESOPs), encouraging companies to consider alternative profit distribution models. Alison continued volunteering as a B Local Leader in the Northern Rivers, organising events to bring together B Corps and help drive systemic change.
